THE CONTROL STATION

Bring single phase or three phase power to the control station sub panel

(available in) 1-Phase 208 volt, 240 volt and 3-Phase 208 volt, 240 volt, 460 volt.

THE SENSOR

Wire the sensor to the control station.

Field hook-up is very simple. 

Connect the available color coordinated wiring harness from the sensor to the trough. 

Wiring Harness is a THHN/THWN 5 wire and is color coded end to end.

RADIANT MAT WIRING

Your control station will contain an electrical trough. 

All radiant cold lead connections will be terminated in the trough and will be pre-marked.

EXAMPLE: - Your order was for a two zone system including 12 radiant mats, 6 mats for zone 1 and 6 mats for zone 2. 

All the field electrician needs to do is run the Zone 1, Mat "A" (marked as Zone-1-Mat-"A") into the control station trough.

Then connect the Zone 1 Mat "A" to the two wires marked Zone-1-Mat-"A" and so on.  

That's it.

Once the main power feed is run to the sub panel,

Once the the sensor wire is run into the trough,

Once the radiant mats cold leads are run into the trough,

The total on site field connection time is then less than 3 hours for one technician.

SAVINGS

Once all your outdoor radiant materials are delivered you would  then first need to figure out:

​

1- What size control panels to order

2- How many control panels with how many magnetic contactors in each

3- The total amperage size of the panels 100 max, 200 max allowed

4- Will there be a pre-heat over ride and if so how long

5- Matching the control / sensor and coil control voltages

6- What size sub panel to order / due to not just load but spaces required.

7- Type of panel will it be bolt on or push on

8- What type of sub panel main lug or main breaker

9- What sizes magnetic contactors for each radiant zone mat or cable

10- How many zones per controller will fit

11- Field familiarize on how to wire the control side contactor coils, pre-heat timers

12- does the system require 30ma-GFEP lockout per the NEC

13- Will there be visual system on indicators

14- Due to amperage constraints will there need to be a NEC required 2nd zone mechanical lockout

15- If second zone lock out is required where will it wire to and where will it mount

16- Field familiarize on the line side piping & wiring

17- Field familiarize on the load side piping and wiring

18- First figure out a basic materials list

19- Order your materials from various suppliers and manufacturers

20- Check codes on GFEP where required where will GFEP mount and where will GFEP panel sensor mount

21- Figure out best placement for coil transient spike arrester for coil and sensor circuit per manufacturer

22-First start the in field layout process

23- Drive pick up all materials

24- Deliver to field site / job box / tables, lights, charging station

25- Assembly then first begins

The time for the above listed #1 - #24 plus the actual field build depending on size can easily turn into a week or more.

Not to mention the issues of diagnosis of any system issues due to unfamiliarity to this type of system

for two electricians or an electrician and a journeyman not to mention the actual cost of purchasing

all the materials is much more than simply ordering what you need and having it delivered.
